Calendar

The calendar includes class days, class breaks, retreat dates, family sessions, and Holy Days of Obligation. Please see the descriptions below for more details about each of these.

Class Days

On days labeled "Class", Zoom classes will take place from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Class will begin promptly at 6:30, and students who log in at 7:00 or later will be marked absent. Only three absences are allowed throughout the year before the student will need to repeat the year.

Class Breaks

On days labeled "No Class", the program is on break due to a holiday or a retreat. For post-retreat breaks, please pay close attention to which classes have class and which ones do not have class on those dates.

Retreat Dates

The Year 1 Retreat in January will be held virtually through Zoom. The format for the Year 2 Retreat in March will be determined in January based on coronavirus restrictions. Both retreats will take place on Friday evening, all day Saturday, and morning and afternoon on Sunday on the specified dates. Specific times and other details will be provided as the retreat dates get closer.

Family Sessions

Days labeled "Class Family Session" are still counted as a Confirmation class and will therefore count toward the student's attendance records. The student and at least one parent are required to be present during the family sessions, although the entire family is encouraged to participate together. The family sessions will take place during regular class time from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. and will be lead by one of our priests or deacons.

Holy Days of Obligation

Holy Days of Obligation are days other than normal Sundays when Catholics are expected to attend Mass to celebrate a specific feast day. Students are expected to participate at Mass (virtually or in-person) on these days and complete a Mass reflection form for each Holy Day of Obligation. There are 5 Holy Days of Obligation throughout our 2020-21 year:

  • All Saints' Day (November 1)

  • Immaculate Conception (December 8)

  • Christmas (December 25)

  • Mary, Mother of God (January 1)

  • Easter (April 4)
